I really have NOTHING to do this weekend and it’s wonderful. However, the fact that I went to bed after 1:00AM and that I was up before 8:00AM is a little troubling. Who am I? I don’t wake up early on weekends! And I certainly don’t wake up early on weekends and make myself a banana & Nutella wrap…and then warm it up on the stove?! Really…who’s trying to take over my life/body?! Anyway…I’m not going to start reading immediately because I have a HUGE bag of books that I’m taking to Bookman’s, then more reading. Here’s where I’m at with my read-a-thon goals!
Goal #5: Start listening to WGx2: Complete
I finished up Will Grayson, Will Grayson yesterday and loved it. Maybe I will become an audio book person…if you have any to recommend with an awesome narrator, please share!
Goal #2: Read The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Complete
“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I’m still trying to figure out how that could be.”
I can relate to the above quote…a lot.
Perhaps because I’ve been feeling a little blue, but I really enjoyed all the teen angst in this one (and in WGx2). Perhaps because it didn’t have a bitter ending like that other epistolary tale of teen troubles that I read this year (Go Ask Alice). Instead, Charlie recognizes his problems and just keeps swimming. I love that. And I kind of wish Charlie was my little brother…if I had a little brother. I just want to hug him!
The title is so spot on. There are indeed wallflower perks. But, why does Goodreads list last names for the characters? When did we discover those? And I can’t wait to see on a huge screen the scene of Sam in the back of the truck with her dress blowing in the wind…and then: Pittsburgh (I hope they stick with Pittsburgh because that really is the most spectacular view when you leave the tunnel.)
Great book and I wish I had read it in high school.
Only two goals left (plus all the “if I have time” items…)
