Memorial Day Weekend Readathon!

I have a four day weekend (Sat-Tue) and other than some quality time with the family on Sunday, I plan on reading by the pool. Jesse has to work evenings for most of the weekend so readathon it is! Starting tonight when I get home, it’s gonna be all about the books. I’m hoping to finish three or four, but even finishing just one will make me very happy (I just want to clear up the stacks a wee bit)!

Feel free to join me :)

My possibilities list:

Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter — look at that cover
What Dies in Summer by Tom Wright — Great first line
Canada by Richard Ford — I’m very intrigued by the first paragraph
Deadline by Mira Grant — Jesse REALLY wants me to read it
Overseas by Beatriz Williams — It sounds like a mix of Discovery of Witches and Outlander
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn — All the EarlyWord GalleyChatters are saying it’s really good, but I didn’t like the first Flynn I tried many moons ago…but it doesn’t sound good!
Shine Shine Shine by Lydia Netzer — I really like the cover
Talulla Rising by Glen Duncan — The Last Werewolf was OK, but I liked the female werewolf when she was introduced. Very excited to read more from her POV.

That’s just a taste of the books I really want to read. What I actually pick up to read this weekend…well, that just depends on my mood!

Happy Weekend & Happy Reading!

  1. I’ve heard great things about Deadline so that’s what I would start with. All the titles sound really fantastic though. Happy reading!
