Cora is awesome. (And we agree about how horrible the end is to The Age of Innocence.)
I read this pretty much in a day because it was just such a pleasurable story. It starts with Cora deciding to act as the chaperone to a 15-year-old Louise Brooks while she takes a dance class in New York City.
While there, we are treated to flashbacks of Cora’s life and we learn a few “juicy” secrets and Cora’s life. (Not juicy to us in the present day, but certainly scandalous in the 1920s.)
After the trip is over, we follow Cora throughout the rest of her life and catch glimpses of Louise’s success and failures.
I really liked this story and can’t wait to read more about Louise Brooks.
