Another awesome weekly event hosted by Miz B from Should Be Reading.

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

My answers:
What am I currently reading?
Oryx & Crake
by Margaret Atwood…after loving The Handmaid’s Tale, I placed a digital hold (via Overdrive) on another Atwood and I’m loving it, too! The plausibility of her speculations are quite scary (and if I’m totally honest, she’s become my newest author crush. I mean, I could be in a relationship with her novels. It’s intense.)
The Complete Claudine by Colette…this is the omnibus of the four Claudine novels (and I’m counting them as separate novels). I’ve finished the first one and I’m working on the next (though Atwood has taken all of my attention!)

What did I recently finish?
The Giver by Lois Lowry…it was good. I’m still stunned anyone has ever challenged this book…
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood…loved it. (But this is a book that I could kind of understand a parent challenging (a smidge of understanding)…I mean, I know some people are offended by profanity or sexual content and this has both.)
Smokin’ Seventeen by Janet Evanovich…the Stephanie Plum series is one of my favorites, but it’s becoming a little frustrating. I’m ready for Steph to grow-up…a little.

What will I read next?
The Great Gatsby
by F. Scott Fitzgerald…With the movie coming up (and it fulfills a challenge goal), it just seems like time to re-read the Great American Novel.
A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin…I keep putting off continuing because I know it’s going to be a long wait once I finish A Dance with Dragons.
Furious Love by Sam Kashner & Nancy Schoenberger…it’s just sitting on my floor staring at me…still.
